Tucker’s Market is a rich piece of Lynch Station, Va’s, community history, and a few weeks ago, the corner convenience store/gas station came under new management. Mark Foster and his fiancée, Ms. Boley, are the market’s new owners. With a love for the establishment and respect for its history, the couple is excited to build up the business. “We’re going to try to get it going like it used to be,” Boley says.

Tucker’s Market was originally started years ago by Alan Tucker, passing through several different owners over the course of its existence. The building was damaged by a fire in the past, but its restoration gave it another chance. Now it has yet another one in the hands of its new owners. Boley’s connection to Tucker’s Market goes back to her early childhood. “I used to come walking… in here and get candy,” she recalls. Now, she finds herself co-owning the store that holds so many fond memories for her, helping to preserve a piece of her hometown’s history.

When Boley and Foster took over the business, they set to work immediately. After thorough cleaning and TLC, the market was ready to get up and running. They hope to eventually sell not only gasoline, drinks, and snacks, but expand to other commodities such as propane and fishing gear, says Foster. They would also like to see the establishment become a family business, Boley added, watching her granddaughter across the room.

Since obtaining and operating Tucker’s Market, Boley and Foster have reduced gas prices, and now offer off-road diesel. They also open at 7 a.m. “We’re here when people need us,” Foster explains. He and Boley look forward to future growth and continuing the tradition of Tucker’s Market in Lynch Station for years to come.
